NCTX

NCTX

NCTX is a lipid bilayer nano-particle encapsulating a conventional iodine-based contrast agent. NCTX provides several unique and beneficial properties for use as a CT contrast agent.

Altered bio-distribution and clearance: NCTX is primarily cleared via the reticulo-endothelial system which is comprised of the liver and spleen. It could potentially be useful for patients who are at risk of acute renal failure.

Long in vivo blood half-life: The long in vivo circulation property of NCTX enables uniform and stable opacification of the blood-pool for several hours. This could potentially enable imaging of different regions in the body without the need for repeated contrast agent injections. It could also eliminate the need for bolus administration of contrast agent and optimal scan timing.

NCTX is currently in the developmental phase. An IND package is in preparation.
